Bhumi Cal ("the App") is developed and published by Purohit Moshai ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. By downloading or using Bhumi Cal, you agree to the terms described below.
1. Information We Collect
Bhumi Cal is designed to work primarily offline and to minimize data collection. The information involved falls into these categories:
1.1 Information you provide
- Calculation inputs (land dimensions, unit selections, price figures, loan values, etc.) that you type into the calculators. These stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
- Saved calculations, calculation history, and favorited/pinned calculators, stored locally on your device.
- Your language and region/state preference (used to select the correct regional land-unit conversion table, e.g. West Bengal vs. Bihar Bigha values).
1.2 Location information (optional, permission-based)
The App's Irregular Land Area calculator (Category 4) offers an optional "Area from GPS coordinates" mode. If you choose to use this feature, the App will request your device's location permission. Location data is used only to compute the plot boundary and area you are measuring, at the time you use that specific feature, and is not collected, stored on our servers, or shared with third parties. You may deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; all other features of the App will continue to work normally without it.
1.3 Automatically collected information (via third-party services)
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements that support the App's free availability. AdMob and Google may automatically collect certain device and usage information (such as advertising identifiers, device type, general location derived from IP address, and interaction with ads) in order to serve and measure ads. This data collection is governed by Google's own privacy policy: đ https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not control what data Google/AdMob collects and do not have access to it beyond aggregate, non-identifying ad performance reports.
1.4 What we do NOT collect
- We do not require account creation, sign-in, email address, or phone number to use the App.
- We do not collect or store your calculation data, saved history, or location on our own servers — all such data stays on your device (via local Hive storage) unless you manually export or share it yourself.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
2. How Information Is Used

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share data only with:
- Google AdMob — for ad serving and measurement, as described in Section 1.3.
- Google Play Services / Firebase (if used for crash reporting or analytics) — solely to help us diagnose crashes and improve app stability. No personally identifying calculation content is included in crash reports.
We do not share, rent, or sell your personal data to any other third party for marketing purposes.
4. Permissions Used by the App

The App requests each permission only at the point it is actually needed (runtime permission), not at install time in bulk.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Locally stored data (calculation history, favorites, preferences) remains on your device until you clear it yourself, either from within the App's settings (Clear History option) or by uninstalling the App.
- We do not retain any copy of this data on our servers, since we never receive it.
- Advertising-related data collected by Google AdMob is retained and managed according to Google's own retention policies.
6. Children's Privacy
Bhumi Cal is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age defined by applicable local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the email below so we can address it.
7. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and India DPDP Act 2023)
Depending on your location, you may have rights including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to withdraw consent (e.g., for location permission or personalized ads) at any time.
- EU/EEA users (GDPR): You may exercise your rights by contacting us at the email below.
- California users (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its "sale" — Bhumi Cal does not sell personal information.
- India (DPDP Act, 2023): As a Data Principal, you may withdraw consent for optional permissions (such as location) at any time via your device settings, and may contact us to raise a grievance regarding your data.
Since most App data never leaves your device, most of these rights are exercised simply by managing permissions and data directly within the App or your device settings.
8. Advertising and Consent
Where required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR in the EEA/UK, or other regional consent frameworks), the App will present a consent mechanism before loading personalized ads, allowing you to choose between personalized and non-personalized advertising, in compliance with Google's EU User Consent Policy and Google Play's Families/Ads policies.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect data processed by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
