PRIVACY POLICY

Introduction

Chemistry Cal is developed and published by Purohit Moshai ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information Chemistry Cal collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built Chemistry Cal to work almost entirely on your device, and we've tried to write this policy the way we'd actually explain it to a friend — plainly, and without burying anything in legal jargon.

By downloading, installing, or using Chemistry Cal, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be upfront about this first: Chemistry Cal does not require you to create an account, does not ask for your name or email to use the app, and does not collect the numbers, formulas, or results you calculate. Everything you type into a calculator — your molarity values, your reaction data, your pH numbers — stays on your device, stored locally using on-device storage (Hive). We never see it, and it is never transmitted to our servers, because we don't operate any servers that receive your calculation data.

Information That Is Collected

a) Locally stored data (stays on your device)

• Saved/favorited calculators
• Recently used calculators
• Your theme preference (light or dark mode)
• Any values you choose to save within the app

This data lives in the app's local storage on your phone and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.

b) Advertising data (collected by Google AdMob) Chemistry Cal is free to use and supported by ads, served through Google AdMob. To show ads (including deciding which ads to show and measuring how they perform), Google's AdMob SDK may collect:

• Advertising ID (a resettable, non-permanent device identifier)
• General device information (device model, OS version, language, screen size)
• Approximate location (derived from IP address, if permitted by your device settings)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us directly, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on most Android devices), and you can reset your Advertising ID at any time.

c) Basic diagnostic/crash data Standard, non-personal crash and performance diagnostics may be collected automatically by Google Play services to help us identify and fix bugs. This does not include any of your calculator input or results.

How Information Is Used

Any data collected (as described above) is used only to:

• Display and measure advertising through Google AdMob
• Diagnose and fix technical issues (crash reports)
• Remember your app preferences between sessions (locally, on your device)

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not use your calculation inputs for any purpose whatsoever, because we never receive them.

Children's Privacy

Chemistry Cal is intended for general audiences, including students, and is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support.purohitmoshai@gmail.com and we will address it promptly. Advertising shown in the app follows Google AdMob's policies for apps with a general or mixed audience; if you believe the app is being used primarily by children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region), please let us know so we can review our ad configuration.

Your Choices and Rights

• Ad personalization: You can opt out anytime via your device's ad settings.
• Local data: You can clear the app's storage or uninstall the app at any time to remove all locally stored data.
• Access/deletion requests: Since we don't hold personal accounts or servers with your personal data, most requests are resolved simply by clearing app data on your device. If you have questions about data Google collects via AdMob, you can also manage this through your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com.
• Regional rights (GDPR/CCPA and similar laws): If you are located in the EEA, UK, California, or another region with data protection laws, you may have additional rights regarding any data processed by Google as described above. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for details on exercising those rights, or contact us and we'll help point you in the right direction.

Permissions Used

Chemistry Cal requests only the minimum Android permissions needed to function, primarily internet access (required for displaying ads and for Google Play services). The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, storage of personal files, or location beyond the approximate, IP-based estimate used by the advertising SDK.

Data Security

Since your calculation data never leaves your device, its security is largely in your hands (device lock, OS updates, etc.). For the limited data that is processed by Google AdMob, Google maintains its own industry-standard security practices as described in their privacy policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature or change our advertising provider. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective Date" above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
