Privacy Policy — Elec Cal
Last updated: August 14, 2026 Effective date: August 14, 2026
Purohit Moshai ("we," "us," "our," "Developer") operates the mobile application Elec Cal (the "App"), available on the Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. We have written this policy to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
By downloading, installing, or using Elec Cal, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Summary (Plain-Language Overview)
- Elec Cal works fully offline. It does not require an internet connection to perform its core calculator and reference functions.
- Elec Cal does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier to use it.
- Elec Cal does not collect, store, or transmit the values you enter into any calculator. All calculations happen entirely on your device.
- Elec Cal does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, files, or any other sensitive device permission.
- Elec Cal displays advertisements through Google AdMob, which may collect limited technical and advertising identifiers as described in Section 4 below.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, and the App does not request, any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Account credentials (the App has no login or account system)
- Your precise or approximate location (the App does not request location permission)
- Photos, camera access, or microphone access
- Contacts, calendar, or files stored on your device
- Calculator inputs, results, saved calculations, or usage history (all such data, where stored for your convenience such as "Recently Used" or "Favorites," stays exclusively in local, on-device storage and is never transmitted to us or any third party)
3. Information Stored Locally On Your Device
To improve your experience, Elec Cal stores certain data locally on your device using an embedded offline database (Hive). This data:
- Includes things like your language preference, unit-system preference, favorited calculators, and recently used calculators.
- Never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers (we do not operate any server that the App communicates with) or to any third party.
- Is automatically deleted if you uninstall the App or manually clear the App's data/storage through your device settings.
4. Information Collected by Third-Party Services (Advertising)
Elec Cal is a free app supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain information, which may include:
- Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID)
- Device information (device model, operating system version, screen size, language)
- General, non-precise location inferred from IP address (for regional ad relevance, not precise GPS location)
- App interaction data related to ads (impressions, clicks)
- IP address
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy policy, and is used to serve advertisements, measure ad performance, and, where applicable, personalize ads based on your device's ad settings. We do not have access to, and do not separately collect or store, this advertising data ourselves — it is processed directly by Google as an independent data controller/processor for the AdMob service.
You can review Google's practices and your choices at:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Ads / AdMob Data Use: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- How Google uses information from partner sites/apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
You can opt out of personalized advertising, or limit ad tracking, through your device's settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization" (or "Delete advertising ID" on newer Android versions)
5. How We Use Information
Because the App does not collect personal information beyond the limited AdMob advertising data described in Section 4, we use information only for the following purposes:
- To display advertisements that support free access to the App
- To measure basic, aggregated ad performance (via AdMob's own reporting, not data we independently hold)
- To maintain your locally stored preferences so the App functions smoothly between sessions
We do not use any information to build a profile of you beyond what Google AdMob independently processes for ad delivery, as described above.
6. Data Sharing and Sale
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party, because we do not collect personal information in the first place.
- We do not share any App data with third parties except for the limited, automatic data collection performed by Google AdMob as described in Section 4, which is necessary to serve ads and keep the App free.
- We have no other third-party integrations, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or cloud backends in this App beyond Google AdMob.
7. Data Retention
- We do not retain any personal data on our servers because we do not operate any server for this App.
- Locally stored preferences (Section 3) persist only on your own device, under your control, until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
- Any data processed by Google AdMob is retained by Google in accordance with Google's own retention policies, which you can review at the links in Section 4.
8. Your Rights
Under GDPR (EEA/UK/Switzerland users)
Because we do not collect or store personal data ourselves, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are not applicable to data held by us, as we hold none. For any data processed by Google AdMob as an independent controller, you may exercise your GDPR rights directly with Google via https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Under CCPA/CPRA (California users)
We do not sell personal information. Because we do not collect personal information directly, we have no personal information of yours to disclose, delete, or correct upon request. For any information processed by Google AdMob, you may exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights directly with Google.
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 (India users)
We do not act as a "Data Fiduciary" collecting your personal data for this App beyond the limited AdMob advertising data described above, which is processed by Google. You may contact us using the details in Section 12 with any questions regarding data handling for this App, and we will respond consistent with our obligations under the DPDP Act.
Exercising Rights Regarding Local Device Data
Since all App-specific preference data is stored locally on your device, you have full and immediate control over it at any time by clearing the App's storage/cache or uninstalling the App via your device's Settings → Apps → Elec Cal → Storage.
9. Children's Privacy
Elec Cal is not directed at children and is intended for a general audience (rated "Everyone" as a professional/educational reference and calculator tool). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. As described above, the App itself collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information in connection with this App, please contact us at the email address in Section 12 and we will take appropriate steps to address the concern.
10. Data Security
Although we do not collect personal data on any server, we take reasonable measures appropriate to a fully offline application: all locally stored data uses the device's own app-sandboxed storage, which is isolated from other apps by the Android operating system. We recommend you also secure your device with a passcode/biometric lock as a general best practice.
11. International Data Transfers
Because we do not operate servers or collect personal data ourselves, we do not transfer personal data internationally. Any data transfer associated with Google AdMob is governed by Google's own privacy policy and applicable data-transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where relevant).
12. Contact Us

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
