1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Date, Age & Time Cal ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), developed and published by Purohit Moshai, accesses, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with your use of the App available on the Google Play Store.

We built this App to be a simple, everyday utility — an age calculator, date calculator, days counter, and timezone converter — and we have designed it to work almost entirely on your device, with minimal data leaving your phone. This policy tells you exactly what does and does not happen with your information.

This policy applies to the App only and should be read together with any in-app disclosures (such as the AdMob consent screen). It does not apply to third-party websites or services that may be linked from the App.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Access and Collect

2.1 Information you provide, stored locally on your device only

When you use the App's calculators, you may enter:

  • Dates of birth (for the Age Calculator)
  • Custom dates and date ranges (for the Date Calculator)
  • Event names, target dates, and icons/colors you choose (for the Days Counter)
  • Timezone/city selections (for the Timezone Converter and World Clock)
  • Your language and theme (Light/Dark/System) preference

This information is stored only in local on-device storage (Hive database) on your phone. It is not transmitted to Purohit Moshai, is not uploaded to any server we operate, and we have no access to it. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email address, or any government ID to use any calculator feature.

2.2 Information collected automatically by third-party services

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements that support free access to the App. To deliver and measure ads, Google AdMob and its partners may automatically collect and process:

  • Advertising ID / device identifiers
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device information (device model, operating system version, language, screen size)
  • App interaction and ad-performance data (impressions, clicks)

This data collection is performed by Google, not by us directly, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Google AdMob data disclosure. We do not sell or share this advertising data ourselves — Google AdMob is the third party that processes it under its own privacy terms as our SDK provider.

You can review and manage your ad personalization settings at any time via:

2.3 Standard technical/diagnostic data

Like most Android apps distributed via Google Play, basic technical data (crash logs, app version, device model, OS version) may be collected by the Google Play platform itself to help us diagnose stability issues, in accordance with the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement. We do not operate our own analytics or crash-reporting server for this App beyond what Google Play provides.

2.4 What we do NOT collect

We do not collect, request, or have access to:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Contacts, call logs, or SMS
  • Precise or approximate device location (the App does not request location permission)
  • Photos, files, or microphone/camera data
  • Financial or payment information
  • Health data

3. Permissions Used by the App

Permission Why it's needed
Internet access Required to load advertisements (Google AdMob) and check for the correct timezone database updates
Network state Required so ads and timezone lookups fail gracefully when offline, without crashing the App

The App does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, SMS, or call log permissions. Every permission requested is proportionate to and necessary for the App's core function, in line with Google Play's permissions policy.

4. How We Use Information

Any information you enter into the calculators (dates, event names, timezone picks, preferences) is used solely to perform the calculation you requested and to display it back to you within the App, and to remember your saved events/settings between sessions on the same device. We do not use this information for profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond delivering the feature you asked for.

Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is used by Google to serve and measure relevant ads within the App, as described in Section 2.2.

5. How Information Is Shared

  • We do not sell your personal or sensitive user data.
  • We do not share the dates, event names, or preferences you enter into the calculators with any third party — this data never leaves your device.
  • Google AdMob (and its certified ad-network partners) receives advertising-related technical data as described in Section 2.2, strictly to serve and measure ads within the App. We have confirmed our use of this SDK is consistent with Google Play's User Data policy, including the requirement that SDK providers not sell personal and sensitive user data collected from the App.
  • We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Purohit Moshai, our users, or others.
  • If Purohit Moshai's app business is ever transferred (e.g., acquisition), information handled under this policy may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this same policy or a successor policy with equivalent protections.

6. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

  • All calculator data (dates of birth, saved events, timezone picks, preferences) is stored locally on your device only, using encrypted-at-rest local storage where supported by the Android platform.

  • We apply industry-standard security practices in building the App, including code minification/obfuscation (R8) in release builds, to reduce the risk of reverse engineering or tampering.

  • Because we do not operate a server that stores your calculator data, there is no remote database of your personal entries for us to secure or that could be breached on our end.

  • Data deletion: You can delete all locally stored App data at any time by:

    1. Using in-app "Clear data" options where available (e.g., deleting individual Days Counter events), or
    2. Going to Android Settings → Apps → Date, Age & Time Cal → Storage → Clear Data, or
    3. Simply uninstalling the App, which permanently removes all locally stored data associated with it.

We do not retain any copy of this data elsewhere, since it was never transmitted to us.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is a general-audience utility tool (age/date/time calculators) and is not directed specifically at children. However, because an "Age Calculator" may naturally be used by or on behalf of users of any age, please note:

  • The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
  • All calculator inputs (including any date of birth entered) are processed locally on-device only and are never transmitted to us, so no child's personal data is collected, stored, or shared by Purohit Moshai on any server.
  • Advertising within the App is served via Google AdMob. If the App is configured for a mixed or general audience, ads may not be personalized for users who are known to be children, consistent with Google Play Families and AdMob policies. Parents/guardians with concerns about ad personalization can adjust settings at https://adssettings.google.com or restrict ad personalization at the device level.
  • If you believe a child has provided us with personal information in a way not described here, please contact us at support.purohitmoshai@gmail.com and we will investigate and take appropriate action.

8. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and India DPDP Act 2023)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your data under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA (CCPA), and/or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Because nearly all of the data the App handles stays on your own device and is never transmitted to us, most of these rights are already exercised directly by you, on your device (see Section 6, "Data deletion").

Where applicable, and to the extent we do process any data about you (e.g., via AdMob as described above), you may have the right to:

  • Access — request confirmation of what data (if any) we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion/erasure — request deletion of data we hold (noting we do not hold your calculator entries at all, per Section 2.1)
  • Restriction or objection — object to or restrict certain processing, including opting out of personalized advertising
  • Portability — request a copy of data you provided, in a portable format, where technically applicable
  • Non-discrimination — (CCPA/CPRA) we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g., ad personalization)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., your EU/UK supervisory authority, or India's Data Protection Board under the DPDP Act)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support.purohitmoshai@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

California "Do Not Sell or Share": We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the manner defined by the CCPA/CPRA beyond the standard Google AdMob advertising functionality disclosed in Section 2.2, which you can opt out of via the ad-settings links provided above.

9. International Data Transfers

Where Google AdMob processes advertising-related technical data as described in Section 2.2, that data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, under Google's own compliance frameworks (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable). We do not separately transfer your data internationally, since we do not operate our own servers that store your calculator data.

10. Third-Party Services Used by This App

Service Purpose Data Involved Provider's Privacy Policy
Google AdMob Displaying in-app advertisements Advertising ID, device info, approximate IP-based location, ad interaction data policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play Services App distribution, updates, basic diagnostics App version, device model, crash data policies.google.com/privacy
IANA Time Zone Database (timezone package) Accurate timezone/DST calculations No personal data transmitted — timezone rules are bundled locally in the App N/A (public domain reference data, no network transmission)

We do not use any other analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs beyond those listed above. This table will be kept up to date and matches the Data Safety section we declare in the Google Play Console.

11. Google Play Data Safety Alignment

In accordance with Google Play's User Data policy, this Privacy Policy comprehensively discloses the access, collection, use, and sharing of user data by the App, consistent with the Data Safety section we complete and maintain in Google Play Console. If any discrepancy is ever identified between this policy and our Play Console Data Safety declaration, this Privacy Policy will be promptly updated to restore alignment, and vice versa.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality, our data practices, or legal/regulatory requirements (including future Google Play policy updates). When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
