Hi, and thanks for using Finance Cal 🙏
We know this app deals with something personal — your income, your loans, your savings, your investments. So before anything else, here's the one thing we want you to walk away knowing: the numbers you type into Finance Cal stay on your phone. We built this app to work fully offline, and we designed it so we never see, receive, or store your actual financial figures on any server. This page explains exactly what that means, what little information we do collect, and why — written in plain language, not legal jargon, because you deserve to actually understand it.
This policy is written to comply with Google Play's Developer Program Policies, including the User Data policy and the Ads policy.
1. What stays only on your device
Everything you enter into any calculator — your salary, loan amount, EMI details, investment figures, tax numbers, insurance sums, whatever it is — is calculated and saved locally on your phone only, using encrypted local storage (Hive with AES-256 encryption). We don't have a server that collects this, so there's nothing for us to store, lose, or misuse. If you delete the app or clear its data, that information is gone — including from our side, because we never had it.
We also don't ask you to sign up, log in, or verify your identity. No name, no email, no phone number, no PAN, no Aadhaar or NID, no bank details. You can open the app and start calculating immediately.
2. What we do collect, and why
To keep Finance Cal running, free, and improving, a small amount of non-financial, mostly anonymous information is collected:
App usage analytics — things like which calculator screens get opened, how often the app is used, and which language you've picked. This tells us what to improve; it can't be traced back to you personally, and it never includes anything you typed into a calculator.
Advertising data (via Google AdMob) — Finance Cal shows ads through Google AdMob to stay free to download. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, general device information, and approximate (non-precise) location to show relevant ads and measure how they perform. This is standard for AdMob and is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You're always in control — you can turn off ad personalization or reset your advertising ID any time from your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Basic device & crash info — device model, OS version, app version, and error logs, purely to help us catch bugs and keep the app stable.
Live currency rates (only if you use it) — the Currency Converter calculator can optionally fetch live exchange rates over a secure connection. This request only includes the currency codes you picked (like INR to USD) — never any of your personal numbers.
3. What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never read, transmit, or store the financial figures you calculate.
- We never share data with anyone beyond the service providers listed below (Google AdMob and Google Play Services), and only for the standard purposes those services exist for — advertising and app distribution/stability.
- We never build a profile of your finances. We simply can't — that data never leaves your device.

5. Permissions this app asks for
- Internet access — needed to show ads and, if you choose, fetch live currency rates.
- That's essentially it. Finance Cal doesn't need your camera, contacts, location, microphone, SMS, or files to function, and we don't request permissions we don't use.
6. Your control over your data
Because there's no account, most of your rights are already in your hands, right inside your phone:
- Delete everything, anytime: go to Settings → Clear Data inside the app, or simply uninstall it — either way, all locally stored calculator history and saved scenarios are permanently erased.
- Turn off ad personalization: your phone's system settings let you opt out of personalized ads or reset your advertising ID whenever you like.
- Extra privacy on sensitive screens: turn on "Secure Mode" in the app to block screenshots on result screens.
If you're in a region with specific data-protection rights — like India's DPDP Act 2023, the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA — those rights (access, correction, deletion, objection) are respected here too. Since we don't hold a database of your personal financial inputs, exercising them is usually as simple as clearing app data or adjusting your ad settings. For anything else, just email us.
7. Children's privacy
Finance Cal isn't designed for or directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has somehow shared information with us, reach out and we'll take care of it right away.
8. Keeping your information safe
All locally saved data is encrypted (AES-256 via Hive), with the encryption key kept in your device's secure keystore — not in plain text, not in our hands. Since your financial data never travels to a server, there's no server-side breach risk for that information to begin with.
9. If this policy changes
If we ever update this policy — say, because we add a new feature or a law changes — we'll update the "Effective date" above and let you know in the app if the change is meaningful. We'd encourage checking back occasionally, but we won't make sneaky changes that reduce your privacy without telling you.
