1. Introduction

Health & Fitness Cal ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is developed and published by Purohit Moshai. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, how it is stored, and what choices you have. It applies to the Health & Fitness Cal Android application and is written to comply with the Google Play Developer Program Policies (including the User Data policy and Families/health-app requirements), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Summary (Plain-Language Overview)

  • Health & Fitness Cal is a self-tracking and calculation tool (BMI, calorie, BMR, period/cycle, pregnancy-related estimates, and 100+ other health and fitness calculators). It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis.
  • All health data you enter — including weight logs, period/cycle dates, pregnancy-related dates, and any other personal health inputs — is stored locally on your device only, in an encrypted format. We do not upload, transmit, sell, or share this data with any third party, including us.
  • The App may show ads through Google AdMob, which can collect limited technical/advertising data as described in Section 6. Ads are not shown on screens where you are actively entering period, pregnancy, or other sensitive health data.
  • We do not require account creation, and we do not collect your name, email, or phone number to use the App's core features.
  • You can delete all locally stored data at any time from Settings → Delete My Data.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide (stored locally only)

  • Body metrics you enter: weight, height, age, sex, activity level, and similar inputs used to run calculators (BMI, BMR, TDEE, body fat %, etc.).
  • Period/menstrual cycle dates, ovulation and fertility-window inputs, pregnancy-related dates (LMP, conception, due date), and related logs, if you choose to use those calculators.
  • Any notes, symptoms, or log entries you optionally add (e.g., basal body temperature, cervical mucus notes, mood/symptom logs).
  • App preferences: unit system (metric/imperial), theme (light/dark), language, and calculator usage frequency (used only to power the "Quick Access" dashboard shortcuts on your own device).

This data is stored only in an encrypted local database on your device (Hive, encrypted via platform secure key storage). It is never transmitted to our servers, because we do not operate a server that receives this data. It is never shared with advertising, analytics, or any third-party SDK.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / AAID) and related device/technical information (device model, OS version, general region derived from IP, app version, crash logs) — collected by the Google AdMob SDK for the purpose of serving and measuring ads. See Section 6.
  • Diagnostic/crash data (e.g., via standard Android crash reporting) — limited to technical information needed to fix bugs (device type, OS version, stack trace). This never includes your health log content, period dates, or pregnancy data, which are explicitly excluded from any diagnostic or crash payload.
  • We do not collect precise GPS location. Any coarse, IP-derived region information is collected only by the advertising SDK for ad relevance/compliance purposes, not by us directly.

3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not require or collect your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or call logs.
  • We do not collect precise/GPS location.
  • We do not sell your personal information to anyone, under any circumstance.

4. How We Use Information

Locally stored health and calculator data is used solely on your device to:

  • Calculate and display your results (BMI, calorie needs, cycle predictions, etc.).
  • Populate your personal Dashboard (weight trend graph, cycle/fertility card, calorie balance, ideal-weight snapshot).
  • Remember your preferences (unit system, theme, language).

Automatically collected technical/advertising data (Section 3.2) is used to:

  • Serve and measure in-app advertising (Google AdMob).
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues (crash reporting).
  • Understand aggregate, anonymized app usage to improve features (we do not use your individual health log content for this).

5. Sensitive Health Data — Special Protections

We recognize that period, fertility, and pregnancy-related data is especially sensitive. In addition to the protections above:

  • This data is stored in a separately encrypted local database using an encryption key held in your device's secure hardware-backed storage (Android Keystore).
  • This data is excluded by design from analytics events, crash reports, and advertising SDK payloads — our code does not pass these fields to any third-party library.
  • Screens where you are actively logging period, cycle, fertility, or pregnancy data are configured to be ad-free at the moment of entry.
  • Ad requests originating from pregnancy/fertility/women's-health calculator screens are marked for non-personalized ads only, consistent with Google's policy on sensitive interest categories.
  • You can permanently delete this data at any time from Settings → Delete My Data, which wipes the encrypted local store. Because we never receive a copy of this data, deleting it on your device deletes it everywhere it exists.
  • We do not use period/fertility/pregnancy data as a form of medical or contraceptive advice. See the in-app Medical Disclaimer for full detail.

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process:

  • Advertising ID (AAID), IP address (for approximate region), device type, OS version, and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks).
  • This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob's data collection practices.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising via your device's Ads settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization on Android), or by resetting your Advertising ID.
  • As noted in Section 5, sensitive health screens request non-personalized ads by default.

6.2 Crash/Diagnostics Tooling

Standard technical crash reporting may be used to catch and fix bugs. This is limited to device/technical metadata and stack traces and explicitly excludes any user-entered health content.

6.3 No Other Third Parties

We do not integrate social login, analytics platforms that build cross-app advertising profiles from your health data, or any cloud sync/backup service for your health logs. If this changes in a future version, this Policy will be updated in advance of the change taking effect, and — where required by law — your consent will be requested.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or health data to any third party.
  • We do not share your health log content (weight, period, pregnancy, or symptom data) with anyone, including advertisers, because this data never leaves your device.
  • We may disclose the limited technical/advertising data described in Section 3.2 to Google AdMob solely to serve ads, as described in Section 6.

8. Data Retention

  • Health and calculator data you enter remains on your device, stored locally, for as long as you keep the App installed or until you delete it via Settings → Delete My Data.
  • Uninstalling the App removes the locally stored encrypted database from your device (subject to your device OS's standard app-data handling).
  • We do not retain copies of your health data on any server, because none is transmitted to us.

9. Your Rights

9.1 All Users

  • Access & Portability: All your data is on your device and visible within the App itself (e.g., your logs, history, and dashboard).
  • Deletion: Use Settings → Delete My Data to erase all locally stored data instantly, or uninstall the App.
  • Correction: You can edit or delete any logged entry directly within the relevant calculator or log screen.

9.2 GDPR (European Economic Area / UK Users)

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing, under the GDPR/UK GDPR. Because we do not hold your health data on any server, most of these rights are exercised directly on-device via the controls above. For requests relating to advertising data processed by Google, please also see Google's own privacy controls.

9.3 CCPA/CPRA (California Users)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under CCPA/CPRA. You may exercise your deletion rights via Settings → Delete My Data or by contacting us at support.purohitmoshai@gmail.com.

9.4 India DPDP Act, 2023

As a Data Principal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access a summary of your personal data and its processing, request correction and erasure, and withdraw consent at any time. Because health data is processed and stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to us as Data Fiduciary, you can exercise correction/erasure directly within the App. For any grievance, you may contact us using the details in Section 13; we will respond within the timelines prescribed under the Act.

10. Children's Privacy

Health & Fitness Cal is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction, e.g., 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Some calculators (e.g., pediatric growth percentile tools) are intended for use by a parent or guardian entering a child's data, not by a child user directly. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in violation of this Policy, please contact us so we can address it.

11. Data Security

  • Sensitive health data (period, pregnancy, and related logs) is stored in an encrypted local database, with the encryption key protected by your device's secure hardware-backed key storage.
  • The App does not use cleartext (unencrypted) network traffic.
  • Release builds are hardened using Android's standard code-shrinking/obfuscation (R8/ProGuard) and do not expose debug interfaces.
  • While we take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Please also protect your device with a passcode/biometric lock, since anyone with access to your unlocked device can access data within the App, as with any local-storage app.

12. International Data Transfers

Because your health and calculator data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us, there is no cross-border transfer of this data by us. Limited technical/advertising data processed by Google AdMob may be transferred and processed in accordance with Google's own privacy policy and applicable international transfer safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses where relevant).

13. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact:

Purohit Moshai Email: support.purohitmoshai@gmail.com Website: https://purohitmoshai.com

We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within a reasonable time, and in compliance with applicable statutory timelines (e.g., under GDPR, CCPA, or the DPDP Act).

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our practices. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy, and — where required by law — we will provide additional notice (e.g., an in-app notice) before the change takes effect. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

15. Google Play Data Safety Mapping (Reference for Store Listing)
